The Benefits Of Having An FAQ Page On Your Site

When a potential customer visits your website and starts reading your content, they’re usually looking for an answer. If you don’t have a customer service chat available on the website, it can be hard for them to get their questions answered. One of the best methods for helping your customers find what they need is to have an FAQ page. FAQ stands for frequently asked questions and is a section of your website that’s dedicated to answering your customers’ questions. There are many reasons why you should have an FAQ page on your website. In this blog post, I’ll cover the benefits of having an FAQ page.

A Dedicated FAQ Page Improves User Experience

Many business owners think they don’t need an FAQ page. They believe that the content on their website is already good enough. The honest answer is that no matter how clear and concise your content is your customers will still have questions. An FAQ page allows you to keep tabs on the types of questions your customers have. By understanding your customers’ concerns, you’re able to address their needs and speak to them directly.

From our years of experience, we’ve seen FAQ pages increase user experience and time on site. When a website utilized an FAQ page, people spent more time on that site and ended up converting. We’ve found that many customers will visit an FAQ page before making a purchase. This shows how important an answers and questions page is to your sales funnel. It gives online visitors a central place to go to answer any questions they have. When you aren’t able to directly speak to your customers, you need to provide a place where they can find answers.

The Benefits Of Having An FAQ Page On Your Site

An FAQ Page Can Increase Your Organic Ranking

Everyone in the digital marketing world is obsessed with getting their websites to rank high, and for a good reason. When your website has a strong ranking, all of the search engines across the web see it as an authority. This drives more valuable traffic to your website and grows your bottom line. There are many ways to get your website to rank but one tactic that isn’t utilized as often as it should be is FAQ. From the websites we’ve built, we’ve seen a FAQ page help increase the organic ranking.

There are many factors Google uses to measure your website’s ranking. One of the most important factors is bounce rate. If your website has a bad bounce rate, Google won’t rank your website very high. Bounce rate is a metric that measures how frequently people leave your website after landing on it. An FAQ page greatly diminishes bounce rate. One of the most common reasons people end up leaving a website is that their questions weren’t addressed. By providing a central hub of information, you’re giving them a reason to stay on the website. If people are staying longer on your website, Google automatically assumes that it's valuable.

FAQ Pages Are Frequently Featured In Search Results

A couple years ago, Google released a feature in its search results called Featured Snippets. Ever since then, marketers have been trying to get their website content to show up as one. A Featured Snippet is a small block of text that Google pulls from your website. Your website content only shows up as a Featured Snippet when it answers an user’s question. You’ve probably seen this in action. If you go to Google right now and type in, “Is milan the capital of Italy”, you’ll see a box appear with questions that people have asked and answers taken from websites.

The most common type of content to get displayed as Featured Snippets are blog posts and FAQ pages. If you’d like to get your FAQ page to appear as a Featured Snippet, you need to make sure the page is formatted correctly. First, the questions on the page need to be marked so Google can tell it’s a question. We recommend highlighting the question or using bullet points. Next, the FAQ page needs to be encoded with Schema. If you’re unfamiliar with Schema, it’s essentially a snippet of javascript that tells Google this is an FAQ page. Lastly, your answers shouldn’t be yes or no. You need to provide a well written explanation that rewords the question. This is all to ensure that Google understands your page content and will rank it appropriately.

As a for-profit company, Google wants to provide a good experience to its users so they’ll keep coming back. For this reason, Google is always looking for ways to answer its users questions. When your website content provides thorough and concise information, users are more likely to stay longer on the page. As the average time users spend browsing your website grows, the value of your website increases in Google’s eyes. An FAQ page is one of our favorite ways of growing a website’s organic ranking. Over the years, we’ve seen it work successfully again and again. If you already have a website or are intending to build one, be sure to add a FAQ page.
